Susan Beech is a paper artist specialising in the making of paper flowers. Her delicate flowers and botanicals are made under the studio name A Petal Unfolds in East Sussex, UK.

Each piece is made predominantly from premium crepe paper. This is cut and intricately manipulated, folded, cut and stretched to create realistic, complex botanical forms. Susan closely observes and seeks to capture the gestures and essence of the plant’s individuality.

Recently, Susan’s practice has moved towards making bespoke framed botanical artworks, some on a large scale. Her most recent collection ‘Fragile Strength’ was shown at Craftworks during London Craft Week.
